About
Conservative Matters is a site dedicated to all things conservative. Please feel free to comment on any of our posts, you may also choose to browse through our forum. Debate all you want, disagree as you wish but above all else keep it clean. We don’t tolerate personal attacks and name calling, a personal attack is defined as attacking someone’s appearance, maladies, family not in the public arena, etc. Pointing out someone’s flawed political positions is not a personal attack, pointing out someone’s socialist beliefs is not a personal attack.
A few points that are not up for debate on this site:
1) Ronald Reagan is the standard by which we measure someone’s conservative credentials.
2) George W Bush was not a conservative. He may have been conservative on some foreign policy issues but domestically he was liberal.
3) Just because someone is a Republican doesn’t make them a Conservative and just because someone is a Conservative doesn’t make them a Republican.
4) Recessions begin as the result of too large a government. Recessions end when we cut government.
5) Economic growth can’t be sustained when government grows faster than the economy
6) Democracy can’t be sustained when the Judicial branch legislates, when the legislative branch pretends to be commander in chief, and the executive branch acts simply as a figure head and allows the other two branches to control the government.
